DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – Duluth Police arrested a man who they believe was under the influence when he allegedly ran a stop sign, causing a crash that damaged a business and sent a woman to the hospital.
Police responded to the intersection of 15th Avenue East and East Superior Street around 12:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the 27-year old man driving a Chevy Malibu ran a stop sign at that intersection. He hit a Chevy Equinox, driven by a 58-year-old woman.
Both cars crashed into the west side of a nearby dog grooming business, Designer Dogs.
Police say the suspect ran from the scene, but then came back and was uncooperative when police tried to arrest him.
He was eventually taken into custody and is awaiting charges at the St. Louis County Jail.
The suspect had minor injuries and the woman was taken to the hospital. Her condition is unknown.
