SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Superior Police Department shut down traffic for several hours Wednesday night after suspicious items were found on the sidewalk and northbound lane in the 800 block of Hammond Avenue.
The items were also near railroad tracks in the area and rail traffic was halted.
The items were a six inch plastic cylinder that had wires extending from it and a four inch by four inch metal box with copper wiring.
The Superior tactical technology team and a Duluth Police explosive detection dog were deployed to the scene.
The items were determined to be components used in high power sodium lights and the street was reopened.
