DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – Senator Amy Klobuchar toured the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Alder Monday morning.
Klobuchar thanked both the crew and a ship well-served.
The ship has resided in Lake Superior for nearly 17 years and will be replaced by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Spar by early next year.
Klobuchar’s visit with the Coast Guard emphasized appreciation for the honored crew members and a farewell to a boat well-accustomed to the Twin Ports over the past years.
Lieutenant Commander, Joel Wright, was welcomed aboard with a change of command on Friday and is excited to oversee the Cutter Spar.
