DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Duluth Police were called to the 300 block of West 4th Street Sunday morning on reports of shots being fired.
Responding officers learned that a 23 year old Duluth man returned home in a manic state, thinking that he was being followed and people were trying to kill him.
The reporting party, a 20 year old female, says the man fired rounds inside the apartment and she took refuge in a bathroom with 11 and 7 year old juveniles.
Police set up a perimeter and evacuated other residents of the apartment building.
After negotiations, the man left the residence with a firearm and was detained without further incident.
The man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation and faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and felony obstructing the legal process.
There were no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
