MOUNTAIN IRON, MN (KDAL) – A two vehicle crash on Park Ridge Drive in Mountain Iron on Thursday morning left one person dead and another injured.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says 44 year old Kevin John Jurek of Keewatin, the driver of an SUV, died in a crash with a commercial vehicle at the MinnTac entrance.
The other driver was taken to the Virginia hospital with non life threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway and authorities say excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
