UNDATED (KDAL) – In July, when Lake Superior normally sees a rise of 2 inches, this year the level dropped by about a half inch.
The drier than average weather has left Lake Superior just 1.2 inches above average and 9.1 inches below the level of a year ago.
The International Lake Superior Board of Control says the lake typically rises in August but, depending on the weather, could see a decline of another 2 inches this month.
