DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – October 15th begins the Minnesota Cold Weather Rule which keeps residential energy customers from disconnection during the winter providing a monthly payment plan is set up with the power company.
Minnesota Power reminds customers that help is available for those having difficulty in paying energy bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They already suspended disconnections for non payment in March if it would affect the customer’s primary heat source.
Minnesota Power also waived late payment charges and re-connection fees. They continue to offer flexible and extended payment plans based on unique financial circumstances.
