Oct 27 (Field Level Media) – Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard will be sidelined at least one week with swelling in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.
The seven-time All-Star was scratched about an hour before Toronto’s 117-94 road loss Sunday to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The team said that medical imaging revealed no acute injury for Leonard, 35, who has a long history of knee issues.
The timeline means he will miss the next four games, starting with Wednesday night’s home contest against the Orlando Magic.
Leonard, who led Toronto the 2019 NBA title, averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the first two games of this season.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP shot just 32.4% from the field in those games, missing 10 of 14 attempts from 3-point distance.
