MEXICO CITY, April 30 (Reuters) – Mexico’s finance ministry held its estimate for economic growth in 2026 at a range of 1.8% to 2.8%, reflecting a somewhat optimistic outlook after preliminary data released earlier on Thursday showed the economy contracted 0.8% in the first quarter.
The forecast, announced in a presentation of the ministry’s quarterly public finance report, is unchanged from the forecast made in the government’s 2026 budget proposal presented in September.
